    In Short
Founded in 1983 by Sue Lindstrom, this Chicago-based connoisseur of all things paper has since expanded to nine states beyond Illinois. Each location is still steeped in the genuine ideal that papermaking, and paper in general, is an art. Therefore, the shops stock an unlimited variety of playful colors--fuse green, confetti yellow--and a complete range of sizes for any project. Sheets of decorative paper are delicate and thin, others tough and full of fiber. Some have traveled from as far as Nepal and Japan, others may have been crafted from 100% recyclable materials at a mill nearby. Either way, you'll find all the materials you need to bind a book, make a photo album or create your own note cards. There's also a lively selection of cards, rubber stamps, calendars, address books, journals, plastic toys, candles, picture frames, ribbon, calligraphy pens and more.

Expensive paper by M A. at InsiderPages

I came here after seeing the good reviews on Insider Pages. They have very nice cards on heavy quality paper, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The designs have a unique style and the cards don't have prices and bar codes on the back like Hallmark cards (why do they do that?!). They also have a section that reminds me of Michael's, with all kinds of fonts and stamps. The best part is they sell old school gum like Beeman's and Juicy Fruit. The problem is that the prices are so high that it seems like someone is playing a joke on you - I almost laughed when I saw how much they were charging for some items. I would only come here for very special occasions! PROS: High quality cards and paper CONS: High prices

High-end stationery by Gavin W. at InsiderPages

Love walking in here and browsing. The atmosphere here is creative -- the hold workshops and seminars on their large work table for people to create their own stationery. They have some unique cards you won't find in any Hallmark store. They also have some nice artistic books, albums, novelties and sketch/note books you can buy as well.

Awesome for Fun Paper Supplies! by Jill K. at InsiderPages

This store is very fun. If you're looking for cute notecards, wrapping paper, tissue paper, stickers, greeting cards, etc., this is the place for you. They've got an awesome selection of very pretty cards - and they're not your typical Hallmark cards. The paper supplies have a very distinct style to them - classic! Granted, I thought most of the items were overpriced. I'd probably go her to buy a gift for someone else rather than to get myself something. It's definitely worth checking out.

Great place if you need invitations or stationary by Chris H. at InsiderPages

If you're looking for special paper in a different color or texture, this is the place to go. They've got a much more interesting selection than your average stationary store (or Hallmark). Not only can you get cards in many colors, they have envelopes to match. They can also do bookbinding, custom stationary or invitations, and are also good for people who do scrapbooking and stuff. If you're looking for a gift, they've got a selection of quirky books also. PROS: Good selection CONS: More expensive than chain stores
