A&L Iron and Metal Company was founded in 1979 as a single site located in Gaylord Michigan. Today, the company has three sites in northern Michigan. Gaylord, located in the northern central lower peninsula on I-75, one hour south of the Mackinac Bridge, serves as the Corporate site. Branch sites are located in the upper peninsula. The Kincheloe yard is located just south of Sault Ste. Marie in the eastern end of the upper peninsula and the Ishpeming yard is located just west of Marquette in the north central upper peninsula.
