    Tips

    • Look Good
Dress for play: concrete tunnels and fast slides mean plenty of climbing and shimmying.
    • Know Before You Go
The museum's hours vary during the summer and school breaks; call ahead for correct information.
    • The Extras
The museum's Everyday Circus offers circus arts and clown camps for kids.
Man-made caves, three-story slides and a genuine castle turret at this one-of-a-kind playhouse for kids and adults.

    In Short
This fascinating, interactive fun-house, imagined by local artist Bob Cassilly, has received national attention for providing kids and adults a dizzying array of larger-than-life installations made exclusively of recycled materials. Real castle turrets, fire engines and abandoned planes are placed in impossibly precarious configurations for your exploring enjoyment. On weekend nights the Museum is open till 1am, operating two bars for the grownups--one inside a 19th-century cabin.

    It was Okay

There was lots of different things you don't see everyday. Most was good, went in with really high expectations so they were dashed a bit. Do NOT eat the food there! WAY overpriced... $5 for a kids PBJ!!

    Discovery Zone for big kids!

Like a grown up "Discovery Zone" (on acid). It's M.C. Escher meets Salvador Dali...Great for kids, but a really fun place to take a date who's up for something unusual. Downtown near plenty of restaurants and clubs. It's where a big kid can be a kid...Makes you want to crawl, climb, play and discover....Bob Cassily rocks! Can't wait to go see the Giant Pencil. Sure "museum" is a misnomer, but exactly what word would you use to describe a mult-story fun house that makes you say "wow" at every turn. Check out the glass blowing demo if you get a chance. Great fun!

    Pros:fun, artistic value, "re-visit" value
    Cons:parking
